Are you a fellow creative? I love that Adobe calls creative people “master shapeshifters” in this article – it’s an excellent label if one was ever to label a creative at all. Of course, creative people often defy labels and resist being put into a permanent camp. People are not an exact science, which offers us an incredible amount of hope as well as frustration at times.

In the space of writing this note, my eldest daughter, a fellow creative, has returned from math tutoring with bright red lipstick on and around her mouth and talking in funny voices (her friend over has the same thing and they were imitating a favorite comedian). I squealed with joy and didn’t care a bit that my squeal didn’t sound attractive nor that the lipstick may cause a lasting stain.

Creative people are just weird, unpredictable, silly, and otherwise do not fit into perfect boxes very well. My daughter’s friend who was over is used to this is also very creative so it’s par for the course. Creatives are just…unpredictable with those who know us. Though we find rhythms and need a certain amount of order and detail to find success, we also love spontaneity and spur of the moment fun and ideas! Whenever I take a trip, I like to discover new places, off the beaten path. Some of us like creativity in travel or literary arts, some enjoy combining history with art, others enjoy dreaming up new projects and others are musicians. Most creative types are a combo of these and many more options. Again, don’t limit options, right?

So as such, I must say I’m happy to find that Adobe has narrowed down another type of intelligence for those who are any kinds of artists – creative intelligence. If you consider yourself a creative, find their brief typing system >> here << and see a listing of all of the types here!

But before you run over there to test, remember execution and not just dreaming (I got The Dreamer) is the only way to move ahead on your goals!

COACHING TIP:

Schedule in some time for working on your goals this week. You may need to allow some silence in your commute or exercise, perhaps you work on a fresh sheet of paper and drive those creative goals into visual and literary context. Maybe you decide to bravely pursue a Zoom meeting, email or phone call with someone you know would make a good partner to your venture?

Don’t know what your goals are? Don’t forget my simple book, The Overflowing Life, that helps you to find this again or for the first time ever!

At any rate, keep up your awesome goals today and always! Also, feel free to share your results!
